Counseling
Welcome to North Mesa Elementary. As your child’s school counselor, my goal is to help our students experience an academically, socially, and emotionally fulfilling school year. I am here to help our learners function positively at school and develop skills that will last a lifetime.
It is especially critical during these formative years that our children understand and appreciate how much their character counts. When we teach, model, and reinforce good character, we help our students choose to do the right thing, set a good example, be a role model, and ultimately make our world a better place to live.
Our monthly classroom counseling lessons include, conflict resolution, problem solving, motivation to achieve, decision making, responsible behavior and being a good friend. We also utilize the Bully-Proofing Your School curriculum.
We will continue to teach and practice the concepts of Tiger’s PRIDE to help create the ultimate safe learning environment at North Mesa Elementary. Tiger’s PRIDE focuses on specific skills students can use to help them be successful in school: P—Prepared, R—Respectful, I—Include Others, D—Do the right thing, and E—Effort, putting one’s best effort forth.
My role is to help your child be successful in school. Feel free to contact me with any concerns you might have regarding your child. I can be reached at 948-3303 or by email - sraper@district70.org.
