Dear North Mesa families,
Welcome back! I hope you have had a great summer and enjoy what is left of it. Time flies and it is about that time to return to school. The North Mesa staff is eagerly looking forward to working with your students and leading our Tigers through a successful 2026-2027 school year.
My name is Brett Bridgman and I would like to introduce myself as the new Principal at North Mesa Elementary School. I can hardly wait to get started working for this wonderful school and community! In addition to myself, I would also like to welcome the a few key staff members. Natalie Mendell is no stranger to the mesa community and will be joining us this year as Secretary. We also have Mrs. Debi Thielmier joining us as Day Custodian. Her work has not gone unnoticed this summer as our school is sparkling clean. In addition to these two individuals, many of you may know Mrs. Jessica Lindenmuth. She was previously on the North Mesa staff and will be returning to teach Kindergarten. Along with Jessica, this year we also have new 5th Grade teacher-Shayla Quarles joining us as a member of the team. Kimberly Young will be joining the staff as an ESS Teacher and Tonya Secora will join is a new paraprofessional. I have full confidence in these new individuals, in addition to the veteran staff that make North Mesa Elementary a great school to be a part of.
As we kick off the new year, I would like to take a moment to review a few expectations. The bell schedule runs from 7:30 AM to 3:05 PM daily. The doors will open at 7:20 AM for student entry. Please do not leave students unattended in the parking lot or parent loop prior to the start of the school day. In order to get home safely, it will be paramount that students understand what to expect for their after-school transportation routines. Please start having those conversations with them now. Once we’ve established your child’s daily routine, in the event of a change please notify the office by 2:00 PM, so we can make your child’s teacher aware of the changes.
I would also like to point out some coming events to help get our students off to a great start this school year. Please make sure to mark your calendars. Kindergarten Orientation will be Wednesday, August 5 from 8:30-9:30 AM. This will be a great opportunity for families to learn about daily routines for Kindergarten students. On Thursday, August 6 from 4:00-5:30 PM, we will be hosting Popsicles in the Park. This is an opportunity to meet your student’s new teacher and to drop off school supplies for the new year. Monday, August 10 is the first day of school for all elementary students. Please plan accordingly.
We look forward to making this a great school year for all of our students and the North Mesa community. Please feel free to reach out with any questions that you may have.
